I’ve been producing since 2012. Starting out as a promotions producer at a local news station, I learned how to piece together all the different elements to form a cohesive and effective story. Since then, I’ve produced and written many more types of videos including public service announcements, explainer videos, corporate interviews, news stories, campaign videos, highlight reels, and comedy shorts. In 2016, I was nominated for a Chicago/Midwest Emmy for producing a video about the budget cuts at Chicago’s public schools.
animation
From logo animations to cartoons to the icons on this page, I’ve mastered a wide range of animation types. To me, motion design is the most fun part of the video making process. It feels magical how each layer of added details creates an animation that is more than the sum of its frames. In 2018, I was nominated for another Chicago/Midwest Emmy for animating a piece for the documentary series, Seeing Brave.
editing
I first learned editing in a high school video art class, and since then, I’ve edited hundreds of videos including web series, news stories, trade show highlights, executive interviews, and a few hip hop videos too obscene to include on this site.
